Hey. If you found this page, it's probably because I emailed you about your company.
I'm Makenzie. I've spent my career growing consumer brands, currently as
Head of Growth at a ~$10M DTC company, and before that co-founding a
multi-brand consumer group. Now I'd like to buy one and run it myself with
my partner, who spent his career in investment banking. He handles the
numbers, I handle growth.
Why I wrote to you
Because I spent time on your site and think you've built something real.
A product people come back for, and reviews that read like people mean them.
That's rarer than it sounds, and it's most of what I'm looking for.
I'm not a broker, a search fund, or private equity. Nobody's paying me to
find deals. It's two people looking for one business, which makes me slower
than an institutional buyer and a lot less annoying.
What I've actually done
ONNO
Head of Growth at a ~$10M sustainable apparel brand. Took Meta from
$0 to $15K a day and managed over $5.5M in spend profitably.
Van Life
Launched the brand end to end at Loyalty Clubs, a multi-brand
consumer group I co-founded. $1M in revenue in the first three months.
How I do it
Paid social, and a network of hundreds of content creators feeding
constant testable creative. Whatever channel a brand needs, that's the
engine underneath it.
What we're looking for
Repeat purchase
People come back on their own. It doesn't have to be a consumable.
Real demand
Genuine reviews in volume, not a paid-traffic mirage.
Shows on camera
A specific problem you can watch the product solve.
Your own brand
You make it. Not a store reselling other people's products.
US based
With mostly US customers.
Established
At least a couple of years of trading behind you.
How this usually goes
Honestly? Most people I write to aren't selling, and that's completely
fine. I'd rather hear a no than wonder. If you are open to it, the first
conversation is just a conversation. No forms, no NDA, no pressure, and
nothing shared with anyone.
If you'd rather I didn't write again, just reply and say so.
I keep that list and I stick to it.
